Music

 I found music to be really hard to find for my character story as nearly everything i clicked on didn't sound right in any way. 

I eneded up thinking that this song would work really well untill playing it with the scene running and it did not fit at all. specially with the gun shot sound effects that i had placed in it.

After searching through a great deal of music tracks i found that this recording from a fair would best suit my scene and having the gun shots and reloading in it.

After effects

After effects

 In after effects i created the bullet effect with using a image key framing the mask on it and the position that it came in and faded out of the scene. This is the optical flare that was used and i had just changed the colour in photoshop to yellow before importing into after effects.

Nearly all the textures that i ended up using in maya.
a lot of them i made myself with combining a mixture of textures and making them seamless.
The gun texture and model was found on Creativecrash website under free models for guns.

Having too many normal dummies in the scene wouldn't make it look right so i made a broken one that also would be the one to be shot breaking off at the pole.

Animating jump

Animating jump

I want my character to be unique with its hops not making them all the same. He will end up crouching down longer or shorter depending on how high or far he jumps.

1. into a crouch
2. hold the crouch
3. popping most of the way back to standing position
4. translated in the air rotated and more standing up
5. rotated back to 90 translated back onto the ground
6. crouching back down 
7. expanding back up to upright position.

repeat but also can skip the 7th skip.

Created a spinning ride for more depth into the scene. With some help from a class mate Julio he showed me how to make it continuously rotate at the same speed without key framing. Also made a circus tent with ropes coming down  that was duplicated from the barriers and stretched out.

 Started to go into some details with modeling making barriers with creating rope even. Made a path then had a flat circle that duplicated into four circles in a square shape then extruded them along the path twisting them.

Modelling more of the scene adding a ferris wheel for in the background scene shot. The size that i have ended up modeling as seems to be about right with how big the stall that has been modeled by me.

Broke down the key steps of hoping and how the body moves and looks before making the blendshape of my character and driven keys. found out some problems with using driven keys with blend shapes as when more then one is used the mesh or character gets warped.

Driven keys

Have been told about using driven keys by Julio and started to look at the best ways that i can go about using them. Found out that using soft selection and changing how high or low the selection is the best way to select what i want then change the pivot point for rotation, translation, or scaling.

Curtains

More curtains

Wanted to try out using Ncloth with the curtain but not too sure if it will make my scene too laggy.
The look of it came out really nice. Ended up using the silk preset making it look very realistic.
I  made a curtain hook to make sure that it would stay more in one spot then going everywhere.

I really want to have curtains in the scene as i have had the idea of the opening scene with the curtains opening revealing the dummies. I have been watching a few tutorials that helped me to make an effective looking curtain.

I am still not sure on what i can do about rigging/ skin weighting my character as it becomes so messed up so meanwhile i have started to model my scene making some progress with that.

I looked through google images browsing and what different stalls at carnivals look like and the colours ect.



 Started model of carnival tent. wooden shelves, front wooden bench, outside will be red and white stripes.

UV texturing


Started to look into UV texturing and how i can apply it to my model to get a better looking and more realistic dummy. Just two of the tutorials that i watched that i thought was handy on completing what i wanted.

Attempted to look at UV my model but it is to high in polys and even when split down the middle to unfold it the shape is hard to distinguish.
